Mercedes GP man Nico Rosberg has revealed that he will get to test the team's new car first.

The MGP W02 will be officially unveiled to the world on February 1 at Valencia in Spain, with the wraps due to come off at 9.20 am local time, just prior to the start of the opening three-day test of the season at the 4.005 kilometre Circuito Ricardo Tormo.

"I am going first," Rosberg told reporters at the Fashion Week in Berlin, according to the DPA press agency. "It will be interesting to see how it [the new car] feels.

"You know pretty quickly how good it is going to be. It is probably unrealistic to go into the season saying we will win the championship, but we will succeed sooner or later. We are on the right track."

Rosberg added that while it was 'something special' to get the first run, the pre-season test schedule will see the days split 'fairly' between him and his team-mate, Michael Schumacher.

Rosberg got the better of Schumacher in F1 2010, and scored almost twice as many points. Despite that though, Ferrari man Fernando Alonso recently said the 42-year-old is likely to be his most dangerous rival this season [see separate story - click here]. Rosberg however insisted that didn't annoy him.

"No, that doesn't interest me," he replied in a separate interview with Germany's Auto Motor Und Sport. "But I found it a bit strange, a little bit amusing.

"Why didn't he say Red Bull would be his nearest rival? That would be obvious," he concluded.
