Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz admits it would be 'interesting' to hold talks with VW if the manufacturer decided to make a move into F1 in the coming seasons.

The VW Group has been linked to an entry as an engine supplier when new regulations come into play in 2013, with numerous reports suggesting that a deal could be considered.

Red Bull already has close links with VW in other areas of motorsport - such as the DTM F3 and the Dakar Rally - and Mateschitz said it would be an interesting discussion to have if the VW Group did decide to enter F1.

"Our companies are relatively close together already," he told Sport Bild. "There are partnerships not only in DTM but also the Dakar rally, and also in some other areas.

"Talks with VW about a collaboration (in F1) would be interesting not only for ourselves but for every other non-factory team in F1."

Despite winning both titles last year, rumours continue that Red Bull aren't happy with the Renault engines they wil continue to use this season, with the motor believed to lack the power of some of its rivals on the grid.
