HRT has asked the FIA to delay scrutineering on the car on Pedro de la Rosa ahead of the start of on-track action in Melbourne for the Australian Grand Prix.

The team has been facing a race against time to prepare for the new season after the failure to pass the FIA crash tests delayed its pre-season preparations.

The first of its two 2012 cars was able to complete a filming day in Barcelona last week with the second car being worked on at Albert Park to allow the team to run this weekend.

The team has now requested that scutineering on the #22 car - that of de la Rosa - be delayed until Friday morning, just before the opening practice session gets underway.

De la Rosa will not be able to take part in any track activities until scrutineering has been successfully passed.
