This year's Paul Grand Prix meeting will feature a raft of high-profile names, none more so than Jacques Villeneuve, who this week confirmed his participation in one of the event's support races.

While the annual F3 event will once again take centre stage on the streets of the French town, Villeneuve will pit himself against two other world champions in the touring car event that features on the undercard, with multiple world rally king Sebastien Loeb and WTCC champion Yvan Muller also on the entry.

While Muller's participation remains dependent on him securing a ride in the WTCC, which has a clashing round in Austria the same weekend, Loeb and Villeneuve look set to go head to head while the Frenchman prepares to swap rallying for touring cars on a full-time basis in 2014.

The Frenchman is no stranger to success on the streets, having guided a Matmut Porsche to victory in one of two GT heats last season, and views his run in the two-litre tin-top class this year as another step towards his switch to the WTCC with Citroen. He has already tasted success in 2013, having clinched last weekend's Rally Monte Carlo as part of a number of selected WRC events on his schedule.

Villeneuve has pursued various racing opportunities since leaving F1 during the 2006 season, notably in both NASCAR and sportscars, but will be making his Pau debut at the 18-20 May event.

One of the Canadian's former F1 team-mates has also confirmed his plans for the coming year, as Nick Heidfeld was revealed as part of Rebellion Racing's assault on the American Le Mans Series, FIA World Endurance Championship and Le Mans 24 Hours.

The German will share seat time in the British team's Toyota-powered Lola B12/60 coupes with Andrea Belicchi, Neel Jani, Nicolas Prost, Mathias Beche and Cong Fu Cheng. A single car entry is planned for the WEC, with a second car appearing at selected events, such as Sebring, Silverstone and Spa, as well as Le Mans. Heidfeld enjoyed the taste of class victory at both Spa and Le Mans last season.
