Kevin Magnussen has announced that he will be carrying out the opening two days of running for McLaren in Bahrain.

With the second test beginning this week, Magnussen confirmed via his Twitter feed that he would drive the car first before handing it over to team-mate Jenson Button half way through the test.

Back-to-back tests in Bahrain kick off on Wednesday, with a four-day gap before the final pre-season test of the season. Magnussen was quickest during the first test at Jerez, setting a best time almost a second faster than Button managed on the opening day and a half after McLaren failed to run on day one.
