The FIA has asked the stewards of the Austrian Grand Prix to assess whether a new hearing in to the clash between Felipe Massa and Sergio Perez in Canada is required.

Force India has requested a review of the decision to penalised Perez for the incident due to what it has described as the emergence of "new elements". With a new panel of stewards working at the Austrian Grand Prix, the stewards will meet at 0900 local time on Friday morning to analyse whether a new hearing in to the incident should be held.

The FIA's document says the steward have been asked to:

"1. Determine as to whether or not a new elemnt exists under Article 13.10.2 of the Sporting Code; and

"2. If such an element is determined to exist, convene a new hearing to consider any such new element(s)."

Perez and Force India have been called to the meeting on Friday morning, while both Perez and Massa will be required to attend any new hearing in to the incident.

The original stewards decision in Canada was reached despite neither driver being present as they were being checked over in hospital, with Perez handed a five-place grid penalty for this weekend's race in Austria.
