Red Bull team principal Christian Horner says he sees similarities between Daniil Kvyat and four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel.

With Vettel moving to Ferrari for 2015, Kvyat has been promoted from Toro Rosso after just one year of F1 experience. Speaking to during an exclusive interview, Horner said Red Bull is not lingering over Vettel's departure to due to the exciting potential he sees within Kvyat.

"Obviously while we're very sorry to see [Vettel] go we're excited about the future," Horner said. "We know in Daniel Ricciardo we've got a phenomenal driver and in Daniil Kvyat we've got something very raw but also very exciting in a very similar way to Sebastian was."

And Horner admits Kvyat has probably been helped by the focus being on Vettel's move to Ferrari rather than the challenge awaiting the 20-year-old Russian next season.

"It's been quite convenient for him because he's sort of come in under the radar. He drove for my team in GP3 last year, his progress - particularly in the second half of that year - was phenomenal. So I've watched his progress quite closely and obviously in a Toro Rosso this year he's done an incredible good job and I think will only grow again next year."
