Kimi Raikkonen is setting his sights on a strong qualifying performance in the Chinese Grand Prix after ending the first day of free practice with the second fastest time.

Raikkonen was the only driver to get within a second of pace setter Lewis Hamilton during FP2, the Finn quickly bouncing back after being forced to change the brakes on the Ferrari.

Ending the day four tenths adrift of Hamilton on top, Raikkonen praised his Ferrari mechanics for the quick turnaround, but insists he is simply focused on turning in a strong qualifying performance tomorrow.

"The morning was not so easy because we found some small issues, then when we went out in the afternoon we had some problems with the brakes and we had to change them," he said. "The mechanics did a good job changing the brakes, but we managed to do more or less what we wanted to do.

"We need to do another good day tomorrow and avoid any issues and problems, qualify good and then see what we can do in the race," he continued.
