Daniel Ricciardo says he is looking forward to 'the buzz' of the Austrian Grand Prix and hopes to put on a show despite his ongoing troubles with his Red Bull car.

The Australian suffered his first non-points scoring finish of 2015 last time out in Canada and said the progress he was making with the RB11 made him feel like he was banging his head against a wall.

The Red Bull Ring in Spielberg will represent another difficult challenge to Ricciardo due to the high speed layout of the circuit which will put high demands on the engines. The 25-year-old is already certain the Austrian Grand Prix is going to be another tricky race weekend but is hoping to put up a good fight.

"Not one of our strongest but good nonetheless," Ricciardo said. "It's short, there aren't a lot of corners, but the corners that there are good. There are a couple of proper quick turns and plenty to catch you out. It's a fast track. You can have a good scrap as well."

12 months ago Ricciardo finished eighth after a long battle with Force India's Nico Hulkenberg and will be keen to put in a strong performance at his team's home race, an event which he enjoyed last year.

"The buzz [impressed me]," he explained "With everyone camping around the track the atmosphere was like going to a festival - everyone sitting out in the sun, drinking beer, listening to music, up in the mountains. Yeah, I could go for a bit of that.

"Massive crowd of course, and genuinely supportive of the event. Not just the Red Bull teams but the entire grid. It was really noticeable on the drivers' parade, which was by far the most lively of the whole year."
