Alexander Rossi has reacted to the news that he won't be racing in Formula 1 full-time in 2016 following the confirmation that Rio Haryanto has secured the available Manor Racing drive.

Having become the first American driver to start an F1 race in eight years towards the end of the 2015 season when he was called up to drive in five of the final seven events, Rossi was considered a favourite for a full-time deal in 2016 after impressing with his instant pace relative to team-mate Will Stevens.

However, he always face stiff opposition from Mercedes prot?g? Pascal Wehrlein and well-backed Rio Haryanto, with Manor going on to confirm Wehrlein last week before announcing Haryanto earlier today.

Despite the set-back, Rossi - who finished runner-up in the GP2 Series to Stoffel Vandoorne - has thanked the Manor team for his F1 opportunity before teasing news to come.
