Sebastian Vettel says the Ferrari SF16-H is indeed a 'completely different approach and project', one that he feels the team is already seeing the rewards of after just two days of testing.

Having led the way on the opening day of track action around Circuit de Catalunya, Vettel was once again in charge with a rapid 1min 22.810secs, though he was one of only two drivers to set a time on Pirelli's new ultra-soft tyre.

Cracking the three-figure lap marker this time, though Vettel brought about an early end to the day when h e stopped on course with four minutes of the session remaining, he still had nothing but positive impressions to report, saying the outside-held belief that Ferrari has produced the 'biggest concept change' over the winter is proving beneficial.

"There's a lot of work that has gone into that car, not just over winter but also before," he said. "It's a completely different approach and project. Outside you see some changes - obviously the nose is very different, the front end of the car - but inside there have been a lot of changes as well.

"I'm not going to touch on those but as you can imagine you try to improve and yeah, try to make the car faster overall, yeah, a lot of people have put a lot of sweat and talent in that car, so hopefully it turns out to be a good one."

Handing over to Kimi Raikkonen for Wednesday and Thursday, Vettel feels he is already handing over a well-sorted car.

"I think so far the first thing that matters is that the feeling is good and the initial feeling was fine. I think building up in the first two days was important - the car is reacting, doing what I ask for, so that's positive now obviously.

"Kimi has a similar impression and we know that there's a lot to do - we need a lot of mileage and there's stuff to work on but for now it feels okay."
