Scuderia Toro Rosso has signed Formula 2 racer Sean Gelael as its test driver for the 2017 Formula 1 World Championship season.
The Indonesian racer made his GP2 Series debut with Campos last season, scoring a maiden podium in Austria, and will this year remain in the rebranded F2 series with the Arden team for 2017.
Additionally, Gelael - who is backed by Jagonya Ayam, the Indonesian arm of KFC - will join Toro Rosso as test driver for the upcoming in-season tests to be held in Bahrain and Hungary, as well as Abu Dhabi towards the end of the season.
