Olivier Panis today concluded his second test session for the Toyota team in Barcelona, but a full day was not without its problems for the French development expert.

He again did some work on the Michelin tyres, as well as some long runs in the afternoon, completing a total of 64 laps with a best time of 1min 17.609secs. The day's running brought the team's weekly total up to 218 laps over the three days of the test. Panis benefited from cooler temperatures towards the end of the day to set his best time, having struggled a little for reliability when conditions were warmer early on.

"Today, we had a different plan to yesterday, but had a few minor difficulties during the session," he said, "I have to say, though, that it has been a busy day and the mechanics have done a fabulous job to make all the necessary changes. Their quick work and reactions meant we did not lose too much time.

"Overall, I am very positive. We did some more tests with the Michelin tyres, and I did some competitive long runs towards the end of the session. After two tests with Toyota, I feel extremely pleased, especially with the ability and motivation of the team. Next week in Paul Ricard, we have to continue in this direction."

Panis joins new team-mate Cristiano da Matta at Paul Ricard for a four-day test session, between 10-13 December, next week. The Frenchman will be behind the wheel of the interim TF102B, whilst da Matta returns to the TF102, for the final test of the year.
