Day three of this week's hectic four-day, three-location test session saw Toyota Racing concentrate on activities in Jerez, where third driver Ricardo Zonta completed 60 laps as preparation for the US and Japanese Grands Prix continued.

The Brazilian found another half second in his TF103 as he clocked 1min 19.7secs to line up as 'best of the rest' behind world champion Michael Schumacher. He concentrated largely on Michelin tyre testing and set-up work for the final two rounds of the season, and felt that good progress had been made on both fronts.

"We did some tyre testing this morning, validating the work that Cristiano [da Matta] did in Barcelona earlier in the week, and trying to evaluate the tyres for the Japanese GP in Suzuka,"Zonta reported, "The car has been running well and we have found a good balance for this track. I am pleased with what we have achieved and we have been able to set a reasonable lap time. Tomorrow is more of the same with further tyre evaluation and set-up work."

With da Matta having finished his two-day stint in Barcelona, Zonta was the only Toyota driver on track today, and is set to complete his week in the south of Spain tomorrow, whilst Olivier Panis assumes concurrent testing duties in the south of France, working on aerodynamic development at Circuit Paul Ricard.
