Team Sauber Petronas have today confirmed that Felipe Massa will drive for the outfit in 2004, the Brazilian teaming up with current Jordan driver, Giancarlo Fisichella.

Speaking in today's FIA press conference, when asked if he would definitely race for the team next season, Sauber replied: "Yes".

He added: "I have been fighting for three years to get Giancarlo Fisichella to drive for us and now it's OK.

"And Felipe Massa: We drove one year with Felipe Massa. He was fast, he was a little bit young, not a lot of experience, especially on the technical side, and now he has improved with Ferrari.

"He's done a lot of mileage, learnt a lot on the technical side and now we will drive again with him."

Current Sauber drivers, Nick Heidfeld and Heinz-Harald Frentzen meanwhile face an uncertain future, as neither have deals for 2004.

When asked about his situation yesterday, Heinz-Harald revealed: "There are some options [to stay in F1], which I am considering at the moment, what I could do, driving with another team next year and I could also leave Formula One and do another championship.

"I'm still pretty much in favour of motor sport, I like the sport and whatever happens, I will be happy doing my motor sport. I will see. I'm weighing up the options at the moment and I am in no hurry to make a decision."
