An extensive search across the United States karting community and junior racing formulae over the past six months, culminating in the selection of six drivers to travel to Estoril for the 2003 Red Bull Driver Search final, has finally produced its three chosen candidates to race in Europe in 2004.

Situated on a rocky plateau on the coast of Portugal, and home to the Portuguese Grand Prix from 1984-1996, the Estoril circuit was the perfect setting for the important final selection, which had the aim of finding American drivers to succeed in Europe and ascend to the ranks of Formula One. The three-day assessment comprised of one day of orientation and two days of testing in British F3 Championship cars prepared by Alan Docking Racing, before a panel of accomplished judges selected, in alphabetical order, Dominique Claessens, Colin Fleming and Matt Jaskol to receive the valued Red Bull backing.

In the coming weeks, the drivers will be analysed further in order to help ease the decision as to which series would best fit the abilities for 2004. Once that process has been completed, their respective series - and the full 2004 American Red Bull driver pool, which could include drivers selected by last season's competition - will be announced.
