Nelsinho Piquet wrapped up his second testing opportunity with the BMW-WilliamsF1 team at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona yesterday, and expressed his satisfaction with the way he had performed.

The 18-year old Brazilian joined WilliamsF1 regulars Juan Montoya, Ralf Schumacher and Marc Gene on duty during the test, and produced a lap time that was six-tenths faster than the team's other junior tester, Nico Rosberg, had managed at the same circuit three weeks ago. To underline the feat, it was Piquet Jr's first ever run at the circuit, where he was called-up to assist the team with set-up evaluation, using last year's FW25.

"Considering it was my first run here, I am satisfied with my performance and think that Williams are satisfied too," he reported, "I managed to achieve a satisfactory lap-time and provide the team with some good feedback. I adapted myself better than from the first time, because I knew the car. I was a lot more confident, less nervous and achieved more."

"Nelson picked up testing responsibilities alongside our two other drivers here today," confirmed chief operations engineer Sam Michael, "We had some interruptions but, across the day, managed a useful 700km or so. Nelson made a good contribution."
