Ferrari team leader, Michael Schumacher squeezed in a few extra laps with the new car, the F2005 yesterday [Saturday] at Fiorano, as the Scuderia prepares to use it for the first time in 'action' at the Bahrain Grand Prix next Sunday.

Having had a dismal start to the season, one which has seen Renault stamp their mark on the year with two wins in Australia and Malaysia, the performance of the F2005 will be crucial in Bahrain if Ferrari is to begin the task of hauling in their rivals.

Schumacher carried out the shakedown of both the F2005's which Ferrari will use at the Sakhir circuit.

He is also carried out some tyre testing for Bridgestone aimed at the rest of the season, in last year's car, the F2004 M.
