Race stewards have banned the McLaren team from taking part in podium proceedings following the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring.

A clarification by race stewards stated that the team will not be able to collect the manufacturers trophy on the podium - with the team racing under appeal after being told it would not be able to score points due to the incident in qualifying where Fernando Alonso was deemed to have prevented Lewis Hamilton from getting an extra timed lap at the end of the session.

However, Hamilton will be able to collect his trophy as race winner, the young Briton putting the weekend's problems behind him for a third win of the season to extend his lead over team-mate Alonso by a further five points.

While Hamilton led from start-to-finish, Alonso had to settle for fourth place after starting from sixth.
