Felipe Massa has taken pole position for the Turkish Grand Prix following an exceptionally close hour of qualifying around Istanbul Park.

The Brazilian, who scored a first pole position and win in Turkey last year, just edged out Lewis Hamilton by a mere five hundredths of a second.

A small mistake in the final sector cost Kimi Raikkonen pole position leaving him to settle for third, while Fernando Alonso's decision to switch to hard tyres on his final flying lap also failed to pay off as he had to contend with fourth.
