Home favourite Rubens Barrichello's hopes of qualifying for the top ten shootout for only the second time this season were ruined by a last gasp effort from Jarno Trulli, leaving the Honda driver 11th on the grid for Brazilian Grand Prix.

Bothering the lower reaches of the top ten all weekend, Barrichello had high hopes to make single figures this weekend, but after hauling himself up to tenth with his final effort in Q2, the very last lap of the session by Trulli was enough to move him up to eighth and the Brazilian down to 11th.

Joining Barrichello on the sidelines was Giancarlo Fisichella, who ended a dismal day for Renault in 12th, Sebastian Vettel, in another solid 13th, Vitantonio Liuzzi 14th, Ralf Schumacher 15th and Jenson Button 16th in the second Honda.

As such, both BMWs and Red Bulls have made the top ten, as well as Trulli's Toyota and Nico Rosberg's Williams.

Kimi Raikkonen was fastest in the second knockout session, closely followed by Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa, while Fernando Alonso was fourth, albeit on the harder compound tyres.
