Jarno Trulli will be the only familiar face in the Toyota driver line-up next season after it was confirmed that Frank Montagny will not be retained beyond this year.

Joining Ralf Schumacher in leaving the team at the end of the Brazilian Grand Prix, Montagny's departure was only briefly mentioned in one of the team's press releases over the weekend.

Nonetheless, it revealed that the Frenchman, who has tested for Renault and Jordan in recent years and did selected races for Super Aguri in 2006, will not see his contract extended beyond this season.

It means a race seat and a test driver's berth will be available at Toyota next year, with early rumours placing one of Toyota's Development Program drivers in with a chance to get some experience behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car.

Although current Williams tester Kazuki Nakajima is tipped for a race seat in 2008, should he be unable to find a place he would be clear favourite to fill the test driving role. However, if he is unavailable, the best of the TDP group would be Kohei Hirate, who had a solid first season with Trident Racing, and Formula 3 Euroseries race winner Kamui Kobayashi.
