Team Scandanavia will take inter-team rivalry to a new level at the Race of Champions with Tom Kristensen and Mattias Ekstrom drawn to race each other.

The pair will kick off their challenge on the Nations Cup against defending champions Finland before going up against each other in round one of the actual Race of Champions itself - with Le Mans legend Kristensen joking that the draw had changed his view of the event.

"Being drawn against my team-mate will stop the information flow between us I think!" he said. "But I think the Nations Cup is important. If you progress, then you can get more experience for The Race of Champions later on."

Ekstrom, the defending champion, admitted that some of the cars new to the event this season - like the Solution F touring car and FIAT Punto Arbarth - were more difficult than machines used in the past in Paris and said it was the person who could adapt quickest who will be successful.

"I think everyone has the same chance of doing a great job," he said. "We have to be able to drive quick in all the different cars. I did my practice and some of the cars are more difficult.

"The guy who will learn the quickest will be the winner I think. Turn one will be very tricky. When the grip is coming, we will be pretty quick and there's concrete walls all around!"
