The car that Ferrari hopes will allow it to defend its double 2007 title success in 2008 has been unveiled in a private ceremony at the company's Maranello headquarters.

The wraps came off the F2008 in front of a specially-invited audience of journalists a day before it is due to take its shakedown run, in the hands of world champion Kimi Raikkonen, at Fiorano. At first glance similar to the successful F2007, the new car, known internally as the 659, has been revised in all areas, not least the bodywork - although that too will be replaced by a completely different configuration in time for the first race, in Melbourne, in March.
