Haas Formula 1 driver Kevin Magnussen will be hit with a five-place grid penalty at the Austrian Grand Prix following a gearbox change.

The American squad has been forced to change the gearbox on Magnussen's car ahead of qualifying after an issue was detected during final practice, with the Dane missing the final stages of FP3.

Magnussen will incur a five-place grid penalty as a result, joining Renault's Nico Hulkenberg, McLaren's Carlos Sainz and Toro Rosso driver Alexander Albon in having grid drops in Spielberg

Haas has endured a difficult start to the season and currently occupies ninth in the constructors' championship.
