In a frantic race, Max Verstappen and Red Bull pulled off the perfect strategy to clinch victory at the team's home race in Austria ahead of Ferrari pair Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel while the German reclaimed the Formula 1 world championship lead.

Mercedes suffered a nightmare race with both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas retiring with mechanical issue, while Hamilton was caught out by the Virtual Safety Car period, as the German manufacturer lost its lead in both championships.

It was a stunning day for Haas with Romain Grosjean in fourth and Kevin Magnussen in fifth to end the demons of its 2018 season-opener horror show in Australia.
