Charouz Racing System has unveiled its 2018 Formula 2 driver line-up of Louis Deletraz and Antonio Fuoco with backing from the Ferrari driver academy next year.

Charouz clinched the 2017 World Series Formula V8 3.5 drivers’ and team’ titles with Pietro Fittipaldi in the championship's last season of existence which sees the Czech Republic squad switch to the FIA Formula 2 championship from next season.

Charouz, who had former backing from Lotus, will receive support from Ferrari’s driver academy with the car carrying the Italian manufacturer’s branding in F2 next year. Ferrari junior Fuoco joins the team alongside Deletraz with both drivers having enjoyed their rookie F2 campaigns last season. Fuoco ended the year eighth in the drivers’ championship with one win and four additional rostrums. Deletraz endured a tougher time in his rookie year having switched mid-season between Racing Engineering and Rapax which saw the Swiss driver secure just four points finishes.

Team Principal Antonin Charouz is relishing his squad’s maiden F2 season and working alongside the Ferrari driver academy in 2018.

“I'm thrilled to welcome Louis and Antonio into our team and keen to work with the Ferrari Driver Academy for what will be our inaugural season in the FIA Formula Two Championship,” Charouz said. “Both drivers impressed during their rookie F2 season in 2017 and they clearly learned a lot as the year progressed. I'm confident they will be able to use that experience to good effect in 2018 so they are challenging at the front of what's traditionally a very competitive F2 field.”

Both drivers will carry the same Ferrari Driver Academy logo on their cars as they enter the new F2 season. Charouz is preparing to receive its first 'next-generation' F2 car in mid-January 2018 with the second car is expected to be delivered in mid-February.
