Juan Manuel Correa has been transferred to a specialised Intensive Care Unit in the United Kingdom following the tragic Formula 2 accident at Spa-Francorchamps which saw Anthoine Hubert killed.

On Monday, Correa’s representatives released an update confirming the 20-year-old is in stable condition after surgery on both his fractured legs while he was also made aware of Hubert’s death.

Correa was involved in the accident on Lap 2 of the F2 Feature Race that claimed the life of BWT Arden driver Hubert. Correa suffered two leg fractures and a minor spinal injury in the collision with Hubert’s car.

The Sauber Team Junior by Charouz driver has been treated at CHU Liege Intensive Care and moved to a specialist ICU in the United Kingdom.

“Juan Manuel and his family want to thank the CHU Liege Intensive Care team for their exceptional care and medical treatment over the past few days,” a statement from Correa’s family said.
