Carlin has revealed the signing of American racer Jake Rosenzweig for the 2009 F3 Euroseries season.

Rosenzweig will join up with Brendon Hartley for the season ahead, with the deal coming after an impressive performance during testing at Valencia prior to Christmas.

The 19-year-old will also take part in a limited programme in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, having run in selected events in the series last year alongside his Formula Renault Eurocup programme.

"Last year was a good opportunity to familiarise myself with single seater racing in Europe and I'm now looking forward to making the step up to F3 with Carlin," he said. "F3 Euroseries is one of the most competitive championships, and the combination of a large amount of testing, an impressive calendar, and a drive with Carlin Motorsport represent a great opportunity at this stage in my career."

Team principal Trevor Carlin said he was impressed by how quickly Rosenzweig had got up to speed during his Spanish test; adding that he was pleased to have the American on board for the season ahead.

"Jake came to us for a speculative test at Valencia and we were immediately impressed with his approach and technical understanding," he said. "He has the raw pace and talent to be an asset to the team this year, and we look forward to working with him and developing him into a front-running driver.

"Jake will have a great team mate in the form of Brendon Hartley and I'm sure we can expect some great results from both of them."
