Daisuke Nakajima, the younger brother of Williams F1 racer Kazuki, has agreed a deal to join Raikkonen Robertson Racing for the 2009 Cooper Tires British F3 International Series.

Nakajima becomes the second driver to sign up with the former series champions, with Colombian racer Carlos Huertas already confirmed in one of its seats for the new campaign.

Nakajima comes to the British series having spent last year competing in the Formula 3 Japan championship and is one of only seven drivers selected as part of Honda's Formula Dream Project, which aims to help young talent both inside and outside Japan.

"I'm very excited to be racing in the UK this year and with a top team such as Double R," he said. "I know it will be a challenge for me this season, but I hope to be winning races from the start. I did a lot of testing with the team at the end of last year, and I felt very comfortable. I am extremely grateful for the support that Honda have given me, and I will not waste this chance in British F3 this year."

Team boss Anthony Hieatt was quick to welcome Nakajima into the team and said he was confident that he would be a strong addition to the field.

"Daisuke is a very welcome addition to the team," he said. "He's already completed a number of tests with us and has gelled very well with his mechanics and engineer. His has already shown himself to be extremely quick and I'm looking forward to working with him this season.

"Both Daisuke and Carlos are very competitive and I know they will be pushing each other hard once the season gets underway next month."
