Menu Motorsport's Rob Austin powered to his maiden F3 win today at Donington Park rounding off a superb return to the series after breaking his arm earlier in the year.

Austin, who won the British F3 winter series, rounded off a fine Donington weekend in the gravel trap after his celebratory donut went wrong, but his jog to the podium failed to dampen his enthusiasm.

It was a green light to chequered flag win for Rob, who so nearly achieved the same feat yesterday on a drying circuit until the slick tyred runners knobbled him on the final lap.

Austin defended his postion well at the start from the affections of newly crowned British F3 champion Alan van der Merwe. From then on it was clean running for the Menu Motorsport driver who seemed almost serene in his run to the chequered flag.

Alan van der Merwe came home a comfortable second with Hi Tech's Danny Watts having a superb race to that the final podium spot.
