Nelson Piquet Jr has cemented his place in the Macau F3 Grand Prix next month, but will not be taking his regular Piquet Sports crew to the Far East, having signed up with rivals Hitech Racing.

The Brazilian, who has not been to Macau before, confirmed to Crash Brazil that he has opted to run with the experienced David Hayles who, despite being in his first season with his own Hitech operation, has already sampled racing on the tricky street circuit. The arrangement will also include an entry for the ensuing Korea F3 Superprix.

Nelsinho, who clinched third place in the British Championship with a brace of race wins at Brands Hatch last weekend, is expected to line-up alongside Hitech regulars Danny Watts and Eric Salignon, after Andrew Thompson revealed that he would not be running in the F3 event. The Scot will instead run in the supporting Formula Renault race.
