Alessio Lorandi has claimed a maiden Euro F3 win in race three at Pau as Lance Stroll's second place hands him the championship points lead after the opening three rounds.

The Carlin driver produced a lights-to-flag performance to grab his team's first win of the year and fended off a safety car restart after an opening lap midfield collision on the tight and twisty Pau street circuit.

The first lap clash saw Nick Cassidy and Sergio Sette Camara taken out of the race instantly while David Beckmann and Zhi Chong Li were also forced to retire without completing a lap. Nikita Mazepin's race ended at the end of lap one after coming into the pits with damage.

Lorandi got the perfect getaway at the restart to keep clear of Stroll and the pair maintain their positions all the way to the flag. Race two winner George Russell completed the rostrum ahead of fellow Brit Callum Ilott with Mikkel Jensen completing the top five.

Joel Eriksson secured his best result of the weekend in sixth in front of Ryan Tveter as Niko Kari, Arjun Maini and Pedro Piquet rounded out the points-paying positions.
