Lance Stroll has produced a flawless lights-to-flag to take victory in race two at the Red Bull Ring in the FIA European Formula 3 championship.

After a dramatic race one which saw Peter Li involved in a heavy clash with Ryan Tveter and Pedro Piquet with Li and Tveter taken to hospital, it was a calmer second race of the weekend which saw Stroll dominate to victory by almost ten seconds to strengthen his spot at the top of the Euro F3 championship.

The Williams F1 development driver escaped the early pressure from Callum Ilott who was left to fend off George Russell for second place having claimed victory in the first race of the weekend.

Niko Kari was the top Volkswagen-powered driver in fourth place for Motopark with David Beckmann once again impressing on just his second Euro F3 outing in fifth place.

A tight midfield fight saw Mikkel Jensen hold on to sixth in front of Max Gunther, Sergio Sette Camara and Alessio Lorandi with Joel Eriksson completing the points-paying places.

Stroll produced the dream getaway from pole position to haul out a two-second lead over the opening two laps as Russell and Ilott traded passes.

However, the Williams F1 development driver's progress was halted by the safety car period after Ralf Aron spun around and made connection in the midpack which lost him his front wing.

With the debris from Aron's car quickly cleaned up the race resumed with Stroll enjoying another strong getaway as Ilott and Russell resumed their battle for second place.

The Canadian rarely looked challenged in the second half of the race after setting consecutive fastest laps and to take a dominant victory for Prema Powerteam.
