Pedro Piquet eased to his first victory of the FIA Formula 3 season after grabbing the lead early on and building a gap that he managed throughout the 17-lap race.

Trident driver Piquet passed pole-sitter Jehan Daruvala exiting Raidillon on the opening lap of the race before pulling clear following an early Virtual Safety Car period, leading every single lap en route to victory.

Robert Shwartzman was able to extend his championship lead following a charge through from P5 to second place, using the powerful DRS effect on the Kemmel Straight to jump Daruvala at half-distance.

Daruvala took third for Prema, lifting him to P2 in the drivers' standings, 19 points back from Shwartzman, while Christian Lundgaard and Juri Vips took fourth and fifth respectively.

Marcus Armstrong battled from 19th on the grid to finish eighth, securing reverse grid pole for Sunday's race.
