ITV4 will provide live, comprehensive coverage of the burgeoning 2014/2015 FIA Formula E Championship in the UK, it has been announced.

Building on existing international deals agreed with FOX Sports, Formula E has confirmed that it has brokered a deal with ITV to show all ten rounds of the inaugural season on the ITV4 and ITV4 HD channels, as well as coverage on its website and the on-demand ITV Player service.

The deal will see each race shown live, along with pre-race build-up, including highlights from earlier practice and qualifying sessions, plus podium celebrations and post-race interviews.

"We're delighted to be announcing this partnership with ITV today and to be securing live, free-to-air coverage of all Formula E races for our UK fans - of which we're confident there will be many," said chief marketing officer Ali Russell.

"The UK is widely considered the home of motorsport and a very important market for Formula E. As such, with its unrivalled commitment to motorsport, ITV provides the perfect platform to showcase our new fully-electric series - which will also be racing in London in June 2015 - and to appeal to a new generation of motorsport fans."

Formula E is the latest motorsport series to be included in ITV4's growing portfolio, with existing deals in place to show the British Touring Car Championship live, as well as delayed coverage of British Superbikes and the World Rally Championship.

All Formula E events will take place across a single day (Saturday) and races begin at 16.00 local time. The opening round takes place in Beijing, China on 13th September, while the British event, which concludes the season, will take place on 27th June in an as-yet-unconfirmed London location.
