GP3 racer Alex Fontana is set to replace Vitantonio Liuzzi in the Trulli Formula E team for the season finale at the London ePrix double header this weekend.

The 22-year-old Swiss driver has been handed the opportunity because the Formula E final round clashes with Liuzzi's Super GT commitments which have taken precedence.

Fontana has spent the past three seasons in the F1 feeder series where he currently competes for Status Grand Prix and sits 10th in the drivers' championship. The young driver is a former member of the Lotus F1 junior team having claimed the F3 Open title in 2011.

Fontana will line up alongside team founder and ex-F1 star Jarno Trulli in London this weekend.
