Mike Conway has been confirmed as Jacques Villeneuve's replacement at Venturi for the upcoming Buenos Aires ePrix as he prepares to make his Formula E debut.

The IndyCar race winner driver has previously tested a Formula E car, but has only now been able to secure a race deal with the Monaco-based Venturi team to compete alongside his Toyota WEC team-mate Stephane Sarrazin.

Making his debut in Argentina for round four of the 2015-16 season, Conway replaces 1991 F1 world champion Villeneuve in the team after the Canadian struggled to make an impression on his return to international single-seater racing.

'Venturi is a top team in Formula E so it's great to be able to join," he said. "The series is innovative and quite unique. It is quickly growing momentum and it's attractive to a lot of manufacturers to showcase their technologies, so it's exciting to be a part of the series.''

''I have always liked street tracks," the Briton, who has previous won at the likes of Macau, Monaco and Long Beach in various classes. "They are normally very bumpy and there are different grip levels throughout the lap so they are a lot of fun!''
