Moroccan youngster Michael Benyahia will feature in next month's Formula E rookie test in Marrakesh with the Venturi team.

Benyahia, 17, first sampled a Formula E car in a show run during the electric series' first visit to Morocco last year, and tested again with Venturi in Valencia back in October as part of his development role with the team.

The defending Formula Renault 2.0 NEC champion has now been confirmed for the rookie test on January 14, taking place one day after the Marrakesh E-Prix.

"I’m well aware of the chance I’m being given," said Benyahia.

"The Formula E championship is growing exponentially. As a result, it’s rare to get a drive.

"I’ll do everything I can, to repay the faith that Gildo Pastor and his team has placed in me.”

Benyahia will join the likes of Nyck de Vries, Nico Müller, Dani Juncadella and some additional names still to be confirmed in the test at the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan.
