After finishing on the podium at round seven of the FIA GT Championship in Sweden three weeks ago, Team Maranello Concessionaires turns its attention to Germany and Oschersleben, where it will continue its fight for N-GT class honours.

Oschersleben will also mark the launch of an exciting new initiative for TMC as, in conjunction with Universal Pictures International [UPI], the team's two Ferrari 360 race cars, and their transporters, will be carrying branding to promote October's international DVD/video launch of the box-office hit 2 Fast 2 Furious.

"UPI approached us having found the prospect of working with a high-profile competitor in the FIA GT Championship appealing," explained TMC commercial director John Newman, "That is a great endorsement, not only of the work we have done as a team in respect of our competitiveness, presentation and professionalism, but of the quality and profile of the championship itself."

The joint venture will culminate in a VIP weekend for 20 international prize-winners from four Universal territories at Monza during the final round of the championship on 18-19 October. In addition, four of the lucky winners will also have an opportunity to be driven around the Italian circuit in one of the team's race cars with TMC ace Jamie Davies - currently second in N-GT points and a winner at Le Mans this year - acting as chauffeur.

"Universal is constantly seeking innovative ways to market our video/DVD releases, and we are proud to break new ground in our unique and exciting partnership with the Ferrari race team at Team Maranello Concessionaires," commented Mary Daily, president of marketing at UPI, "The DVD movie message is not traditionally communicated in the motorsports arena, and we feel the association between our all-action hit movie and a high-performance race team is a perfect fit."
