The International Court of Appeal has thrown out the appeal lodged by the GPC Giesse team against its exclusion from the results of Imola's FIA GT Championship round earlier this month.

The court met in Paris on Tuesday to examine the appeal introduced by the Automobile Club d'Italia/Commissione Sportiva Automobilistica Italiana on behalf of GPC, and drivers Christian Pescatori and Iradj Alexander, after the #62 car had been thrown out in post-race scrutineering.

The team's Ferrari 360 had put in a dominant performance, crossing the line ahead of the reconstructed Freisinger Motorsport Porsche of Lucas Luhr and Sascha Maassen, only to be excluded due to an airbox problem, giving the #99 Porsche the win.

Having heard the explanations of both parties, and examined the various documents and other evidence, the court upheld the decision of the stewards at the Imola meeting.
