UK Road racing 2019

This year has seen the demise of Olivers Mount (has anybody actually had a refund yet?) and the cancellation of the Welsh TT for administrative reasons leaving Great Britain with no significant road races.

There has been a deafening silence on the subject of Olivers Mount since it cancelled all events and the subject of refunds is a very sore one.

Similarly, the Welsh TT was cancelled owing to the changes to legislation relating to road racing meaning the right permit could not be guaranteed in time but the even would definitely be rescheduled for 2019. Since then, another deafening silence, although the web site and facebook pages have been removed.

Something is certainly not right in the UK motorsport world. The Circuit of Wales (snigger..) went hideously wrong and the proposed, more realistic, track in Northern Ireland has also ground to a halt. Meanwhile, the many megarich owners of Silverstone still whine about needing subsidies and benefits.

Will it get any better in 2019? Will road racing ever happen in Great Britain?
