Johnny Cecotto Jr has ended Friday's free practice quickest after pulling out two-tenths on his nearest challenger Tom Dillmann as the pace crept up at the Hungaroring.

The RP Motorsport driver produced his top time on his penultimate timed lap to storm ahead in Budapest with Dillmann holding on to second after FP1's fastest driver Yu Kanamaru enjoyed a late gain to jump to third overall.

French driver Matthieu Vaxiviere claimed fourth for SMP Racing ahead of Pietro Fittipaldi as Force India F1 development driver Alfonso Celis Jr completed the top six runners in Hungary.

Race one winner from the opening round at Aragon Louis Deletraz enjoyed a strong session to take seventh as Roy Nissany, Egor Orudzhev and Matevos Isaakyan rounded out the top ten.
