Sergey Sirotkin will start on pole position for the GP2 Series feature race around the streets of Monaco after translating his impressive free practice pace into a similarly dominant qualifying performance.

A pre-season favourite, Sirotkin failed to score in the Barcelona opener after spinning out of the first race, but after topping free practice in the morning he was again the driver to beat when it mattered in qualifying.

Leading the way in the faster of the two qualifying groups, Sirotkin will start alongside Norman Nato, the Frenchman earning his crucial Monaco front row spot after topping the slower Group A.

Jordan King and Mitch Evans make up row two after going second quickest in their respective groups, with Oliver Rowland and Alex Lynn making it three British drivers inside the top six. Antonio Giovinazzi, Raffaele Marciello, Nicholas Latifi and Luca Ghiotto complete the top ten.

Having lost time in free practice after a crash, Red Bull junior Pierre Gasly lost out in qualifying, the Frenchman down in 16th place, while Artem Markelov caused a lengthy red flag period when he speared the barriers at turn one during the Group B session.
