The on-going development of the new Formula Superfund SF01 will continue with a three-day test at the Circuito de Jerez, beginning today [9 November].

The car has already impressed on demonstration runs and in earlier tests, but the organisers of the new series - which replaces the Euro 3000 Championship in 2005 - are determined to iron out any bugs before the car is released to prospective customers. Ex-F1 and IRL driver Vincenzo Sospiri will return to the cockpit for the second time on the opening day of the test, as the development team works on a programme designed to maximise reliability and clock up further mileage.

The programme will continue on Wednesday and Thursday with the evaluation of potential drivers for the 2005 season. The selection of drivers will be confirmed shortly, but is expected to involve some of those who raced in the Euro 3000 series this year, as well as others looking to graduate from the junior ranks or move across from series parallel to Formula Superfund.
