Having lost the lead of the championship following the end of the qualifying for the fourth round of the GP2 Series at Barcelona, Nelson Piquet will go into the opening feature race once again at the head of the standings following Lewis Hamilton's penalty.

With two points on offer for pole position, Hamilton seemed to have slipped past second placed Piquet but when the Brit was penalised his best two laps for a yellow flag infringement, the Brazilian was promoted to pole and in one swoop moved from one point behind to four points in front of his ART rival.

With his main rival only dropping to fourth place, Piquet is still expecting an exceptionally tough. "We are losing a bit of time on the first sector, but are really quick in the second and third, so we need to work on getting that extra bit from the car.

"I will just try to do the best start of my life and hope that we can make the car good enough that we can pull away a bit, and that we have a good pitstop. I think though it's going to be a really tough, really tight race."
