Having failed to conclude a deal with Comtec Racing, Marco Bonanomi will instead line-up on the 2007 World Series by Renault grid with RC Motorsport after the team let slip on their website of their new signing.

Although no press release has been released concerning a deal, despite various rumours in recent days, Bonanomi instead appears on the team's driver profiles in place of 2006 pilots Borja Garcia and Bruce Jouanny.

Bonanomi was thought be closing on a deal with Comtec after a successful run with the team in post-season testing, while he also proved quick with RC and Prema too.

Nonetheless, with Comtec choosing Jaap Van Lagen and Alejandro Nunez, it is RC Motorsport that has instead won the services of the young Italian, who turned heads in 2006 when he stepped in for Comtec during practice at the Misano round and proved quickest immediately.

That showing also earned him two rounds with Tech 1 Racing at Spa and Nurburgring, but he was forced to pull out again when commitments called in the Euroseries 3000 that otherwise occupied his season.

Nonetheless, Bonanomi would eventually claim second in the standings with Giancarlo Fisichella's team, making him particularly sought after during post-season tests.

RC Motorsport, who recovered from a disastrous and pointless 2005 season to finish second in the standings with Garcia last year, are yet to announce their second driver but have tested the likes of Ben Hanley and GP2 driver Ferdinando Monfardini.
