Having been forced to let a GP2 drive slip through his fingers, Ricardo Risatti appears to have instead found a berth in the sister World Series by Renault by snaring the last remaining seat at GD Racing.

Up until two weeks ago, Risatti had been a BCN Competicion driver, only for sponsorship complications to force the team to search for an alternative just a fortnight before the start of the season.

Nonetheless, while his previous counterparts kick off the GP2 season this weekend in Bahrain, Risatti will be at Monza having been included on the provisional entry list with GD Racing.

The Italian team has spent much of the off-season trying several different drivers, including Christian Montanari and Sean McIntosh, but it is Risatti that is set to appear alongside Pasquale di Sabatino for the GD's home round.

The Argentine comes to the series as the reigning Spanish F3 champion, and will hope to prove as competitive as predecessor Andy Soucek, who went on to claim fourth position in the overall WSbR standings.
