Despite quitting his ride at DPR to join Fisichella Motor Sport International for the 2008 GP2 Series, Andy Soucek now finds himself unemployed after being replaced in the Italian squad's line-up by Roldan Rodriguez.

Soucek contested the opening round of the inaugural GP2 Asia Series with DPR before his deal with FMSI made it difficult to complete the campaign with David Price's team. Sitting out the remainder of the championship, the Spaniard tested with his new squad in the 2008-spec Dallara, expecting to be on the grid at his home grand prix this weekend, but now finds himself watching from the sidelines.

"I cannot believe that they've done this to me four days before the race in my country," he told Spain's, "They say that I have broken a clause of our contract, but that is untrue. That is an excuse to try to justify this joke. I am disappointed, because I have worked hard to be here."

Rodriguez contested the final round of the Asia Series with FMSI after replacing the injured Michael Herck - ironically, the man to benefit from Soucek vacating a seat at DPR for the summer competition - and will continue alongside another Spaniard, Adrian Valles for the entire season, having originally appeared to be on his way to the World Series by Renault. The one-time Force India F1 hopeful, who raced in GP2 for Minardi Piquet Sports last season, warmed up for the season ahead by winning and finishing second in two Euro F3000 outings at the weekend.

Thanking Soucek 'for his precious contribution to the team during pre-championship testing', FMSI announced the reshuffle at the same time as unveiling a revised livery for the summer season.

Having arrived in Dubai for the opening round of the Asia Series with a colour scheme confusingly similar to that of DAMS - which had also changed its appearance for 2008 - the Italian outfit has now replaced its silver with white to make the two teams appear different. The new colours also tie in more closely with team owner Giancarlo Fisichella's Force India livery.
