Blackforest Motorsports has been forced to retire from the Rolex 24 at Daytona after the #15 Mustang lost a cylinder.

With Boris Said, Tom Nastasi, Owen Kelly and Paul Morris on driving duties, the Mustang had been running strongly in the early hours of the race but the loss of the cylinder left the team with no option but to call it a day ast the race goes unti darkness.

"The car is retired," Said said. "We were just driving around easy. Easy and then there were only three Porsches faster than us.

"We were going to turn it up in the morning..."

Another GT team in problems was the #40 Dempsey Racing Mazda, with Jep Thornton going off at turn three and hitting the tyres - bringing out the first caution of the race and leaving the team with work to do.
